The Board of AHLC consists of the following members:
Sele Zongo Board Member, Sele is a diplomat and musician. Originally from Congo, Sele has lived in Cairo for over nine years. Several of Sele’s children are graduates of AHLC.
Nancy Esposito Instructional coach, She is from the United States and has a background in Early Childhood Education. She has lived in various countries in the North Africa-Middle East area since 1998, and has taught and worked with children of all ages
Cartier Rose Chan - Board Member, she first came to Egypt 20 years ago to study Arabic and since then has lived and worked in several other countries such as Japan, United States, Germany, China, etc. She has a background in global business managment and education. She is married to a Canadian diplomat.
Jonathan Turland - He is our new director from Australia. He joins us with his wife Sarah and four children and comes with a background in teaching and leadership from schools in Australia as well as short term experience in other countries. He is looking forward to working with current and new staff to build on previous good work to take African Hope to another level. He has a passion to encourage students and staff to do their best and to be all they can be to the best of their ability.
Lesley Richardson -
Steve Petra - He is from the United Kingdom and has lived in Cairo with his wife, Linda, for about a year. He has worked as a chemical engineer; project manager for an international charity organization and as an educator. He and his wife have worked in International Schools around the world for the last 13 years
Lim Nan - He was the previous High School Director. Through a personal and professional development consultancy run by him and his wife Christy, they assist the school in leadership development and related issues on a voluntary basis. He also teaches International Chess as a means of equipping young people with life skills such as critical thinking, concentration, etc.
The current board wishes to thank our previous board members who have worked so hard behind the scenes to build up the school to what it is today. We couldn't have done it without all of you!
